Futura Corporate Spotlight – Roger Shulsen
It’s time for another Futura Title & Escrow spotlight, and today we’re featuring Roger Shulsen! Based in the AmeriTitle branch in Bend, Oregon, Roger is part of our Corporate Underwriting Team. He’s been with Futura Title for over 15 years and brings nearly 35 years of real estate legal experience to the table.
Roger views his job as a mixture of investigation and problem-solving. “(I solve) real property land puzzles created over time via the various issues in title. I also enjoy the collaboration I have with the rest of the Corporate Underwriting Team, the many great Title Officers, Escrow Officers and awesome employees of this organization, and the tremendous Insuring Underwriters that we are an Agent of,” he says.
A University of Utah alum, Roger is humble when it comes to life outside the office , claiming he doesn’t have any hidden talents or fun facts to share. However, he did live in Japan for a brief time and can still speak the language.
“It has been decades since I lived in Japan, so I am not as proficient as I once was,” Roger says. “Most of my other talents are very modest, at best.”
As an avid outdoorsman, Roger lists hiking among his top interests. He’s a big fan of area trails featuring mountains, rivers and lakes. “Even a simple walk around the neighborhood brings me a sense of calm and brings me closer to nature,” he adds.
Roger also enjoys the local food scene in Bend, so let him know if you need a recommendation! Regarding who he admires most, Roger has an entire list of people worthy of that recognition.
“I have been very blessed in my life to have an assortment of people who have provided guidance, been helpmates, served as positive authority figures and offered inspiration,” he says. “My grandfathers, parents, wife, children, and various coworkers and teachers have been influential in my life.”
