As a trusted settlement services resource in the Pacific Northwest, Futura Title & Escrow Corp. and its subsidiaries, Alliance Title & Escrow Corp. and AmeriTitle, Inc., have made compliance with the American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices a top priority. Since 2013, the Futura Title family of companies has proactively worked to verify that our controls, policies and procedures enable us to assist our lender clients in complying with Federal consumer laws while protecting our most significant stakeholder – the consumer.
In an effort to enhance the safeguards we have in place, we elected to undertake an American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Service Organization Control Reports (SOC) audit. In July 2016, Futura Title received certification for successfully completing the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 exam. The SSAE 16 is an industry-recognized auditing standard instituted by the AICPA. Settlement service companies that receive SSAE 16 certification have been attested by an independent third party CPA firm to the soundness of their information technology and network security, operational procedures, and risk assessment control activities and objectives in protecting consumer data.
In addition to receiving SSAE 16 certification, Futura Title was confirmed and certified as ALTA Best Practices compliant. With this noteworthy milestone in our compliance efforts, our clients and customers can be assured that every transaction facilitated by our brands is held to the highest standard.
